Responsibilities

• Work in a 9-bed ICU with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 2:1, unless a 1:1 ratio is indicated.
• Potential to care for Med/Surg overflow patients, with ratios of up to 3-4 patients per nurse.
• Work 12-hour day or night shifts on a schedule of 72 hours every two weeks.
• Maintain a minimum staffing level of three nurses per shift.
• Care for adult ICU patients, with occasional stable pediatric patients; unstable pediatric patients are transferred to a higher level of care.
• May be assigned charge nurse duties as needed.
• Float to other departments to provide assistance as needed (not responsible for taking a full team of patients).
• Maintain current PALS certification.
• Possess and demonstrate pediatric nursing experience.
