Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina is seeking an experienced Charge Nurse or Nursing Supervisor for PRN shifts to oversee hospital functions on a designated shift. You will confer with nursing staff, physicians, and other department personnel to meet patient needs and maintain continuity of professional nursing care.

The role requires at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity, SC/Compact RN license, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years as a Charge Nurse or Supervisor in an acute care facility.
• SC or Compact State Registered Nurse license is required.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification or ARC BLS for Healthcare Providers is required.

Job Description

• The Nursing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing hospital functions on a designated shift.
• He/she confers with the nursing staff, physicians, and other department personnel as necessary to meet the overall needs of patients.
• Informs the hospital administrator on call of any situation that may require attention.
• Manages staffing to provide continuity of professional nursing care.

Qualifications

• Experience: At least 2 years experience as a Charge Nurse or Supervisor in an acute care facility South Carolina or Compact State Registered Nurse License Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required
