Job summary

The Concord Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a motivated Nursing Home Cook to join our skilled nursing team. You will prepare, cook, and serve a variety of meals for residents, including baking rolls, cookies, cakes, and pies, while maintaining high food safety standards.

Ideal candidates have ServSafe or Sodexo certification, at least 1 year of large-scale cooking experience, and are strong team players with excellent communication and customer service skills.

Qualifications

• Certification in healthcare cooking (ServSafe or Sodexo).
• Minimum 1 year of experience in large-scale cooking.
• Strong knowledge of large scale & therapeutic food prep.
• Must be able to do some physical work.
• Should be a strong team player.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Excellent customer service & communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Preparation, cooking, and service of a variety of foods.
• Baking a variety of rolls, cookies, cakes, and pies.
• Working on tray line during meal service.
• General cleaning up of kitchen.
• Hand washing and sanitizing of pot and pans.
• Other duties as assigned.
