Job summary

Gorham House in Gorham, ME seeks an on-site executive to oversee operations, acting as the main contact for staff, residents, prospects and community partners while ensuring budget accountability.

The role includes hiring and training staff, maintaining licenses, leading meetings, protecting resident rights, and representing the community in local organizations. Compensation is $135,000 per year with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in the Senior Housing Industry.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills with residents, guests, and coworkers.
  • Ability to relate to ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and hostile residents.
  • Strong management skills and collaborative with staff.
  • Compassion and patience under stress.
  • Ability to switch tasks quickly and often.

  • Act as the on‑site executive for all operations, including being the main point of contact for all staff, residents, prospects, community organizations, government agencies and the public.
  • Maintain budget accountability and cash flow; aggressively anticipate and minimize negative budget variances and deficits.
  • Hire, train, discipline, and terminate employees in accordance with Senior Lifestyle Corporate policy.
  • Maintain all local, state, and federal licenses for the community.
  • Lead staff meetings.
  • Promote and protect resident rights; assisting residents to make informed decisions and treating them with dignity and respect.
  • Become an intricate part of the community in social and civic affairs by representing the community in local, state, and professional organizations.

Qualifications:
Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in the Senior Housing Industry.
  • You professionally communicate and listen to residents, guests, and coworkers.
  • You are able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile residents.
  • You have great management skills and a willingness and desire to work harmoniously with all staff members.
  • You express compassion and patience through your work, even when your job is stressful at times.
  • You have the ability to switch tasks quickly and often.
