Job summary

Galen College of Nursing in Gainesville Campus seeks a Faculty Development Specialist to enhance instructional effectiveness through onboarding, classroom observations, mentoring, and coaching, with a focus on NCLEX readiness indicators and course outcomes.

The role partners with campus leadership to support new faculty, ensure alignment with curriculum, and provide targeted faculty development across modalities, using data-driven approaches and Teaching & Learning Academy resources.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in nursing is required.
• Minimum of three years of successful teaching experience in nursing education.
• Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) strongly preferred.
• Experience with Canvas or similar LMS required.
• Strong communication and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides structured onboarding and first-year mentoring for newly hired faculty.
• Develops and monitors individualized faculty support plans.
• Provides ongoing support to new faculty during their first year.
• Collaborates with program leadership to identify faculty development needs.
• Provides proactive coaching for new course teachers.
• Maintains documentation of observations, coaching actions, and progress.
