Job summary

Chamberlain University in Salt Lake City seeks an experienced Instructor Faculty to shape the next generation of nurses through classroom, online, and clinical settings. You will teach assigned courses, mentor students, participate in committees, and contribute to scholarship aligned with Chamberlain's mission.

The role requires a Master's degree (PhD preferred), 2+ years teaching experience, and strong communication.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a field appropriate to the teaching profession required and
  • PhD in a field appropriate to the teaching profession preferred
  • 2+ years professional experience in a profession related to the teaching discipline required
  • Excellent communication skills along with a high level of initiative and prudent judgment
  • Technological expertise with learning management systems, simulation equipment, and online platforms, increasingly ability to work with AI
  • Maintain current regulatory and practice credentials, when appropriate, based on assignment

Opportunity at a Glance
Shape the next generation of healthcare providers through high-quality nursing education in classroom, online, and clinical settings, including through flexible evening and weekend classes. This role includes teaching, student evaluation, professional mentoring, committee participation, and engagement in service and scholarship activities aligned with Chamberlain's mission.

Responsibilities
  • Teach assigned nursing courses (e.g.: classroom, online, clinical, lab, simulation), creating engaging learning experiences, using technologyand evidence-based methods.
  • Provide input to and implement course curriculum and teaching materials.

  • Contribute to the CU community through professional services (to include committees,graduation, andprogram evaluation).
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and support to students and new faculty.
  • Engage in scholarly activities related to teaching and nursing practice such asresearching, applying, and disseminating new knowledge.
  • Maintain subject matter and teaching skills through ongoing professional development.
  • Follow, understand, and enforce policies related to students (exams, late assignments, attendance etc.) and stay up to date with changes.

  • Experientially prepared to teach assigned courses
  • Scholarship Requirements: Demonstrates scholarship congruent with the level of rank. Activities that would be considered as scholarship have three characteristics. Scholarship must be: 1) made public, 2) open to critical review and evaluation by knowledgeable peers and 3) accessible for exchange and use by others
  • The Instructor Faculty member is required to demonstrate at least one example within one of the four following focus areas of professional development and scholarship (detailed examples of each rank are outlined in the faculty handbook for reference): Scholarship of Discovery, Scholarship of Integration, Scholarship of Practice/Application, Scholarship of Teaching and Learning
  • Maintain appropriate, active, unencumbered licensure or certification as required to work professionally in the discipline Required
Additional Information

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $53,520.90 and $96,736.53. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
