Job summary

The University of Texas Medical Branch School of Nursing at Galveston invites applications for full-time faculty positions across undergraduate and graduate programs, with ranks of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor.

Preferred candidates will have university teaching experience, clinical expertise in their specialty, a defined program of research, and demonstrated leadership in scholarly activity.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in nursing or related field; doctoral degree in progress may be considered.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure as a registered nurse in the state of Texas.
• APRN credential preferred.

Responsibilities

• Use innovative, state-of-the-art teaching methods for classroom and online instruction.
• Participate in course design, development, implementation and evaluation of learning experiences.
• Promote academic excellence through continuing education in education, practice or research.
• Serve as academic advisor to students.
• Demonstrate leadership within a defined area of nursing practice.
• Lead in clinical settings to foster collaboration with nursing colleagues and other disciplines.
• Disseminate scholarly work in professional publications/presentations at meetings.
• Direct and engage in scholarship advancing nursing knowledge and science.
• Engage in School of Nursing and university committees.
• Participate in local, state, national and international professional organizations.
