Job summary
UNC Health in Chapel Hill is seeking a Nurse Educator to coordinate staff development and educational needs for nursing staff, patients, and families. This advanced education role works with minimal supervision and leads special projects across care areas.
The position requires a BSN with NC RN licensure; a background in nursing education and patient education is essential. Onsite work with a 40-hour week, day schedule, and UNC Health benefits are offered.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from a state-accredited school of professional nursing.
- Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
- Two additional years of clinical education or teaching experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate staff development and continuing education for nursing staff.
- Lead education initiatives to improve patient outcomes and care processes.
- Develop and implement evidence-based nursing education materials and programs.
- Mentor nursing staff and supervise education projects.
- Conduct learning needs assessments to plan educational programs.
- Assist in orientation and onboarding of new staff and students.
- Create and evaluate patient and family education materials.
- Collaborate with other departments on interprofessional education.
- Provide clinical supervision to staff developing knowledge and skills.
