Job summary

PACS seeks a Director of Nursing to oversee the nursing department, supervise staff, and provide direct resident care as needed. The DON ensures high-quality care, regulatory compliance, and ongoing staff development in a post-acute setting.

The role requires leadership in policy development, budgeting, QA participation, and coordination of MDS and care planning, while liaising with physicians, families, and facility leadership to uphold excellence in resident care.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an Accredited School of Nursing with a BSN preferred.
• Must be in good standing with the State Board of Nursing and maintain all required continuing education/licensing requirements at all times.
• Minimum of 7 years nurse management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee nursing department staffing and operations.
• Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures.
• Ensure resident safety and quality of care.
• Coordinate MDS and care planning.
• Lead staff in-services, hiring, and training.
• Budget, reporting, and QA participation.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and state survey readiness.
