The role requires at least two years in nursing service administration, NY RN license, and a strong focus on leadership, communication, and compassionate, resident-centered care.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of experience in nursing service administration.
• Current and valid license as a Registered Nurse in NY.
• Education or experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing is preferred.
• Must be able to demonstrate age-specific knowledge of developmental factors for adult and geriatric residents.
• Demonstrate effective communication skills, problem-solving, and conflict resolution.
• Must be flexible, punctual, professional, and reliable.
• Strong customer service skills and compassion.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day clinical and administrative operations of the nursing department.
• Create a positive team environment that is patient/resident-centered.
• Demonstrate excellent understanding of clinical skills and key nursing programs.
• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing department, in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines.
• Participate in developing, maintaining, and updating written policies and procedures that govern the day-to-day functions of the department.
• Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, and charting.
• Help determine staffing needs.
• Provide direct nursing care as necessary.
