Job summary

Guidance Center of Lea County in Hobbs, NM seeks a Director of Nursing (in-person) to provide administrative and nursing leadership for both the Medication Management Clinic and the integrated Primary Care Clinic. Reporting to the Medical Director, the DON will shape nursing practice, staffing, and compliant workflows across services.

As a CCBHC site, the DON will ensure seamless coordination between nursing, prescribers, and primary care with clear documentation, outcomes tracking, and staff

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted RN license in NM.
• BSN required.
• Minimum 5 years of clinical nursing experience, incl. 2+ years in supervisory/management roles.
• Experience in psychiatric/behavioral health, medication management, ambulatory/primary care.
• Current BLS/CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally.

Responsibilities

• Direct all nursing practice in clinics per NM Nurse Practice Act and approved protocols.
• Establish and review nursing policies, procedures, standing orders, and workflows.
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, and nursing supervision; ensure competency and training.
• Coordinate medication management clinic operations, including injections and monitoring.
• Integrate nursing for primary care, including vitals, testing, immunizations, and screenings.
• Ensure compliance, quality improvement, risk management, and audits.
