Job summary

Cedar Hills Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Clemmons, NC is seeking a dedicated Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our clinical team at our skilled nursing facility. The DON will oversee the nursing department, ensure regulatory compliance, manage staffing, and drive quality improvement across resident care.

The ideal candidate brings 3–5 years of nursing leadership in long-term care, strong leadership and communication skills, and a passion for resident-centered care.

Qualifications

• Current NC RN license or eligibility for reciprocity.
• Minimum 3–5 years nursing leadership experience in skilled nursing or long-term care.
• Proven experience as Director of Nursing, Assistant DON, or Nurse Manager.
• Strong understanding of nursing regulations, clinical standards, and compliance requirements.
• CPR certification; additional certifications a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, manage, and evaluate all nursing staff (RNs, LPNs, CNAs).
• Oversee daily clinical operations and ensure delivery of quality patient care.
• Develop, implement, and monitor nursing policies and procedures in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
• Direct nursing care planning, admissions, discharges, and care transitions.
• Collaborate with medical staff, interdisciplinary teams, and other departments to support resident outcomes.
• Ensure accurate documentation, charting, and record-keeping practices.
• Monitor staffing needs, scheduling, and retention strategies.
• Participate in facility quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
• Provide training, mentorship, and performance evaluations for nursing personnel.
• Monitor budgets and control nursing department expenditures.
• Serve as a liaison between nursing staff and facility leadership.
