Job summary

Unitek Learning is seeking a Campus Dean to lead the BSN and LPN nursing programs at our Albuquerque campus. You will supervise faculty, manage program operations, and build partnerships with local healthcare organizations to advance the program.

The role emphasizes curriculum development, accreditation readiness, budgeting, and collaboration with college leadership to improve student outcomes. A master’s or higher in nursing, education, or administration is required, along with nursing

Qualifications

  • RN license in the state where campus is located.
  • Master’s or higher degree in nursing, education or administration.
  • Minimum two years in an administrative position.
  • Minimum two years teaching in nursing programs.
  • Experience as RN with direct patient care preferred.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Commitment to diversity and collaboration.
  • Experience in supervision, planning and budgeting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership to the nursing department to achieve outcomes.
  • Assist with annual program budget and monitor expenses.
  • Develop and implement curriculum revisions and courses.
  • Oversee nursing program components to ensure quality and outcomes.
  • Maintain qualified faculty to achieve program outcomes.
  • Supervise faculty and staff to achieve outcomes.
  • Oversee faculty orientation, mentorship and development.
  • Prepare for accreditation by boards of nursing and programmatic accreditors.
  • Provide reports to associations and accrediting bodies.
  • Facilitate program reviews focusing on curriculum, faculty, staff and resources.
  • Represent the nursing program in college meetings and with stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with college leadership to improve student outcomes.
  • Engage in meetings with stakeholders for feedback on program development.
  • Ensure positive communications among faculty, staff and college personnel.
  • Oversee recruitment and hiring of faculty per college policies.
  • Demonstrate commitment to teaching excellence and professional engagement.
  • Teach courses within the Nursing Department as per Board of Nursing regulations.

Job Description
We are looking for Campus Dean for our BSN and LPN Program's to join our team.
The Dean of Nursing is responsible for providing leadership and management in the delivery and operation of the nursing program at the respective campus location. Primary responsibilities include supervision of faculty and other personnel, program management, and program operations. The Dean works to develop partnerships with healthcare organizations and other educational institutions to establish professional community relationships and advance the program.
Responsibilities
  • Provide overall leadership to the department to achieve stated outcomes
  • Assist with the preparation of the annual program budget; monitor expenses, provide input into budget development, align expense management with revenue variations, and identify and explain variances
  • Assist with the development and implementation of curriculum revisions, and courses
  • Oversee the components of the nursing program, ensuring program quality and the achievement of program outcomes
  • Maintain an adequate number of qualified faculty to achieve program outcomes
  • Provide supervision of faculty and staff to achieve identified outcomes
  • Supervise faculty orientation, mentorship, and development
  • Oversee the process of preparing for accreditation by programmatic accreditors and Boards of Nursing
  • Provide annual and interim reports requested by professional associations, accrediting bodies, and board of nursing
  • Facilitate a systematic program review that includes professional standards and criteria; the evaluation should focus on, but not be limited to:
    • Curriculum
    • Faculty
    • Staff
    • Students
    • Resources
    • Program Outcomes
    • Communities of Interest
  • Supervise the collection of data to support, analyze, and evaluate achievement of program outcomes
  • Represent the nursing program at meetings within the college
  • Collaborate with college leadership to achieve desired organizational results in areas of customer satisfaction, student retention, staff retention, graduation rates, and satisfactory student progress
  • Participate in meetings with stakeholders and communities of interest to obtain feedback on program development and outcomes
  • Ensure positive global communications among faculty, staff, and college personnel
  • Supervise the recruitment and hiring of faculty in accordance with the policies and procedures of the college
  • Demonstrate commitment to the profession through the development of expertise in the teaching and learning process, membership in professional organizations, and activities which support the professional community
  • Teach a course/courses within the Department of Nursing as per the Board of Nursing regulations
Qualifications
  • Must hold a current RN license in the state where the campus is located
  • A master’s or higher degree from an accredited college or University that includes course work in nursing, education or administration
  • A minimum of two years of experience in an administrative position
  • A minimum of two years of teaching experience in pre- or post-licensure nursing programs
  • At least two years of experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care and/or equivalent experience as determined by the Board
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Excellent skills in oral and written communications
  • Committed to diversity, as defined by state law.
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people and institutions
  • Leadership style that emphasizes collaboration, teamwork, and facilitation
  • Ability to utilize computer-based resources
  • Demonstrated ability to build consensus
  • Experience in supervision, planning, budget preparation and maintenance
