Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian/The Allen Hospital is seeking a Nursing Attendant I for the Float Pool on the Evening Shift. You will support bedside care, monitor vitals, aid with meals and safe patient transport, and collaborate with RNs and ICU Technicians to keep our fast-paced units running smoothly.

Required: high school diploma or GED, current CPR from the American Heart Association, and one of: prior nurse's aide experience in an acute care hospital, completion of an approved nurse aide training

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current CPR Training from the American Heart Association.
• Must meet one of: previous nurse's aide experience in a hospital setting, certification from an approved accredited nurse aide training program, or current enrollment in a BSN program.

Responsibilities

• Monitor blood pressure, temperature, pulse and respiration and assist with patient care under RN supervision.
• Provide meals and safe transport for patients and support bedside care.
• Maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment and collaborate with nurses and other care team members.

Provide compassionate patient focus and perform select care duties under the supervision of a registered nurse. Improve the patient experience and maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment. Measure and record temperatures, pulses, respiration and blood pressure. Demonstrate what it means to be part of a team and raise the bar for patient care.

The shift for this position is 3:00pm - 11:00am, including weekends and holidays.

Preferred Criteria

• At least 1 year of nurse's aide experience in an acute care setting

Salary Range:

$24.60-$26.46/Hourly
