Job summary

Doctors Hospital of Laredo, a 183-bed acute care facility in Laredo, TX, seeks a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide safe, patient-centered care under the supervision of a nurse or physician. You will join the Nursing Team and help uphold the hospital’s Service Excellence standards.

Qualifications include a High School diploma or GED, CNA certificate, CPI de-escalation training within six months, and BLS either on hire or during orientation. Acute care experience is preferred.

JOB SUMMARY:

Provides safe, competent patient-centered care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy. The certified nursing assistant provides care under the direction of the registered nurse or physician. Participates as an active member of the Nursing Team on the assigned unit/department. Supports an organizational culture for Service Excellence and practices the Service Excellence Standards to all customer groups.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALFICATIONS:

• High School diploma or GED
• Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s) required by the facility.
• Must possess CNA certificate
• De-escalation training (obtained CPI within six months of employment) in required specialty.
• BLS (or obtained during orientation)
• Prefer experience in acute care setting.
