Job summary

Qualifications

• GS-3 requires no additional experience beyond the basic requirements.
• GS-4 requires one year of specialized NA experience OR education plus KSAs.
• GS-5 requires one year at GS-4 or a 4-year health care related degree with KSAs.
• KSAs include providing patient care and observing patient status, communicating with patients and staff, and recognizing emergent care situations.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed nursing staff in the care of patients/residents in outpatient, home, or hospital settings.
• Observe and report patient status and changes to the supervisor in a timely manner.
• Use equipment and supplies for basic diagnostic and treatment procedures as trained.
• Serve as a preceptor to new Nursing Assistants by assisting with orientation and practical experience.
