Job summary

Catawba Valley Medical Center is hiring a Nurse Aide who will provide patient care within the scope of practice and center policies, appropriate to the patient’s age and development. The role supports both NA and Unit Secretary duties, aiming to meet yearly performance expectations.

Required are CNA certifications (NA I/II), BCLS, basic computer skills, and the ability to obtain any missing certifications within set timeframes. No prior experience is necessary; on-the-job training is provided.

Qualifications

• 17 years of age or older.
• Basic computer skills required.
• BCLS certification; if not from AHA, certification due within 3 months.
• NA1 or NA2 (NA2 must maintain NA1 listing).
• Nurse Aide I: listed with NC Nurse Aide Registry.
• Nurse Aide II: listed with NC Nurse Aide Registry and NC Board of Nursing.
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certification within specified timeframes for ED and Psychiatry.
• Preferred: knowledge of medical terminology; ability to type proficiently.
• No previous experience required; on-the-job training provided.

Responsibilities

• Provides care within scope of practice and hospital policies, appropriate to patient age group.
• Work and function competently and independently in both NA and Unit Secretary roles.
• Meet annual evaluation performance expectations.
