Job summary

Nemours is seeking a Nursing Assistant for our Staffing Resource Pool in Wilmington, DE. The position is casual/per diem and supports the patient care team under direction of a Registered Nurse.

The role involves assisting with daily activities, handling specimens, and using hospital systems to document care. AHA BLS certification and pediatric-focused experience are valued.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year patient care experience strongly preferred.
• Able to read and write accurately.
• Able to understand laboratory orders, computer information, and medical terminology.
• Comfortable with obtaining specimens, including blood specimens, from a pediatric/ill population.
• Current AHA Healthcare Provider (HCP) Certification.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a clean and safe patient care unit; assist with activities of daily life.
• Collect patient specimens per policy; prioritize safety and accuracy.
• Use Hospital Information Systems for patient care and documentation.
• Relay information from physicians, nurses, and lab personnel accurately.

Nursing Assistant-Staffing Resource Pool (Finance)

Nemours is seeking a Nursing Assistant for our Staffing Resource Pool to join our team in Wilmington, DE. This position is CASUAL/PER DIEM.

This position is responsible for: Assisting with general activities of the patient care unit and assist the health care team with performance of patient care activities, under the direction and guidance of a Registered Nurse.

Essential Functions:

• Ensuring a clean and safe patient care unit, assisting patients with activities of daily life (bath, feed, play, etc.
• Collects patient specimens (blood, urine, stool, other per policy), paying close attention to patient safety, comfort and accuracy of information.
• Uses Hospital Information Systems as required for patient care, (e.g. documenting vital signs and patient care activities.)
• Accurately relays information from physicians, nurses, laboratory personnel and others.
• Transports patients and delivers reports, supplies, etc., to other patient units or Institute locations as needed.

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year patient care experience strongly preferred
