Providence St. Joseph Hospital Eureka is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support direct patient care in a busy hospital environment. You will assist with personal hygiene, routine bedside tasks, and data collection under supervision.

The role emphasizes compassionate, patient-centered care and adherence to safety protocols. Under the guidance of registered nurses and unit leadership, you will monitor patients, document findings, and respond to changes in condition.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine bedside care and assist with ADLs.
• Monitor and document vital signs and patient observations.
• Record data accurately in the medical record and communicate changes to the RN.
• Respond promptly to call lights and emergencies, following unit protocol.

The Nursing Assistant employs intellectual, interpersonal and technical skills to perform basic patient care. Under the supervision of the Assistant Nurse Manager, Charge Nurse or RN, the Nursing Assistant assists with routine, direct bedside care of patients of various ages as defined by the department scope of service. Such duties include, but are not limited to: personal hygiene, data collection and observation, vital signs, I&O, use of equipment, ADL's, documenting on the medical record, answering call lights, and recognizing and responding to emergency situations.

Required Qualifications:

• Within 30 days of hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications:

• Upon hire: Nursing Assistant certification
• For Other Depts: Acute care or specialty experience.

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors.
