Job summary

NHNPA in Newton, New Jersey, is seeking a Nursing Assistant to work alongside physicians and nurses, delivering basic nursing services and patient support such as bathing, meals, mobility assistance, transportation, and medication administration to ensure comfort, safety, and a positive patient experience.

You will participate in continuous rounds, assist with daily activities, change linens, help with supplies, and support families throughout shifts.

Qualifications

• Level I - High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 0-3 years of experience as a Nursing Assistant, in Patient Care or other related field with demonstrated increased responsibility in the healthcare industry.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) to be obtained prior to start date

Responsibilities

• Supports nursing personnel in providing direct patient care and assists patients with daily activities.
• Serves and collects food trays and provides between-meal nourishment.
• Changes bed linen, runs errands and prepares and sterilizes treatment trays and supplies.
• Transports patients within the facility for consultations, treatments, tests, or examinations.
• Measures and records patients' vital signs such as temperature or pulse and provides basic treatment.
• Ensures a safe care environment for the patients and their families.
• Performs continuous rounds and check-ins throughout the shift to ensure patient and family needs are met.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
