Job summary

NaphCare is seeking a Nursing Assistant and Patient Care Technician (CNA/PCT) to join the Arizona Department of Corrections - Perryville in Goodyear, AZ. Pay rates range from $18.00 to $20.00 per hour based on shift, site needs, licensure, and experience.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • BLS CPR Certification (AHA) required.
  • Ability to interact effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to facility policies and codes of conduct.
  • Must pass background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with patient assessments, interview patients about health problems and medication history.
  • Take vital signs including BP, temperature, respiration, and weight.
  • Document medical history including medications and treatments.
  • Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) such as bathing, dressing, feeding and mobility.
  • Provide basic wound care, simple lab tests, patient education and instructions.
  • Observe and report changes in patients' health to nurses.
  • Schedule and coordinate patient appointments.
  • Maintain inventory of medical and office supplies.
  • Answer phones, emails and other communications.

Overview

NaphCare is seeking to hire a Nursing Assistant and Patient Care Technicians (NA/PCT) to join our team of medical professionals in the Arizona Department of Corrections - Perryville in Goodyear, AZ.

Pay rates range from $18.00 to $20.00 per hour based on shift, site needs, licensure, and experience.

Full Time and Part Time positions may be available!

As a Correctional Nursing Assistant and Patient Care Technician, you will work under the supervision of a registered nurse alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals to provide care to the individuals in residence. Working within a controlled environment, where security is top priority and the days are never dull, you will have various duties to keep you engaged including assisting physicians and other healthcare professionals with examinations, taking patient histories, vital signs, supporting administrative tasks, etc. This is a unique position where you can make a difference to this diverse population of patients with complex medical needs.

Responsibilities

As a Nursing Assistant or Patient Care Technicians, you will play a critical role in our continued mission to provide quality healthcare that protects the rights, dignity, and health of our unique patient population. Duties and responsibilities may include and not be limited to:

Clinical Duties
  • Assist with performing patient assessments, interviewing patients about current health problems, medication history
  • Taking vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, respiration, and weight
  • Documenting medical history including medications, treatment and medical conditions
  • Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) skills including bathing, dressing, feeding and mobility
  • Providing basic wound care, basic laboratory tests, basic patient education and instructions
  • Observing and reporting changes in patients' physical or mental health to nurses
Administrative Duties
  • Scheduling and coordinating patient appointments
  • Maintaining inventory of medical and office supplies
  • Answering phones, emails and other forms of communications
Qualifications

Requirements / Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Be able to obtain BLS CPR Certification (AHA required)
  • Ability to interact effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds, including those with mental health or substance abuse issues
  • Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information and integrity, professionalism and ability to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements
  • Display integrity, professionalism and be able to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements
  • Must pass the facility's criminal background check and drug screening
Physical Capabilities

Must have the ability to stand for long periods, lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds), bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift.
