Job summary

Gundersen Health System—Harmony Care Center is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to join the night shift team. The role offers a part-time 32-hour schedule and the chance to grow within a caring, family-based environment in Harmony, MN.

Even without CNA certification, the company will enroll and pay for the MN CNA training. BLS certification is required; the pay starts at $20.55/hour with potential increases for experience.

Qualifications

• Minnesota Registered Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) required.
• If not certified, employer will fund CNA training and enrollment.
• Current Infant-Adult Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers.

Responsibilities

• Work night shifts including every other weekend and holidays.
• Part-time schedule: 32 hours per week.
• Provide basic patient care under supervision of an RN in the hospital setting.
• Transport and transfer patients within the medical complex safely.
• Assist with data collection and documentation in the electronic medical record.
• Support nutrition, elimination, comfort, mobility, safety, and patient needs.
• Maintain environment and equipment; participate in meetings and quality initiatives.

Gundersen Health System (Emplify Health)- Harmony Care Center is a long-term care facility dedicated to promoting a healthy, meaningful and secure environment for adults of all ages, and we are looking for a Certified Nursing Assistant to join the team and work night shifts!

Don't have a CNA certification? No problem! We will enroll you in a fully funded program to get that MN CNA certification!

What You Will Do

• Work night shifts including every other weekend and holiday
• Part-time - work 32 hours a week
• Nurture a family-based care environment by learning about each person and serving their needs
• The CNA is responsible for performing basic care of patients under the general supervision of an RN in the acute hospital setting.
• The CNA is also responsible for transporting and transferring patients within the medical complex in a safe and efficient manner. The CNA will also assist with data collection to facilitate the delivery of delegated nursing care.

Primary Responsibilities

• Work closely under the supervision of a licensed Nurse
• Must be physically able to life heavy objects, as well as push, pull, reach and squat on a regular basis
• Accurately document on each resident in an electronic medical record and must be familiar and competent in basic computer use
• Assists with basic care for patients in the areas of nutrition, elimination, comfort, mobility, and safety
• Ensure patient safety
• Participates in CNA meetings and unit staff meetings
• Participates in quality improvement activities in order to continuously improve patient care and unit operations.
• Perform other job-related responsibilities as requested by the Director of Nursing.
• Must be flexible and adhere to regular and predictable attendance
• Transports and transfers patients within the medical complex using appropriate equipment and utilizing safety precautions as indicated by the patient’s health status.
• Assists nursing staff in lifting and ambulating patients using appropriate practice guidelines.
• Maintains environment and equipment
• Demonstrates dependability, organizational skills and effective use of time by setting priorities to complete delegated work within established time frames in accordance to unit guidelines.
• Demonstrates role accountability by adhering to Gundersen Health System Mission statement, policies and confidentiality standards

What You Will Need

• Minnesota Registered Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
• If you do not have your CNA certification, we will pay for it and can start you as a Nursing Assistant!
• Current Infant-Adult Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers (with hands on learning) from one of the following programs: American Heart Association or American Red Cross

• If you do not have your CNA certification, we will pay for your training and if starting as a Nursing Assistant, the pay rate will be $19.55/hour until you are certified!
