Roles and Responsibilities

• Direct Patient Care – Toileting, ambulating, repositioning, monitoring and recording intake and output of fluids, recording patient weight, obtaining vital signs, and reporting abnormal findings or changes in the patient's conditions to the RN.
• Reinforcing education with patients; i.e. incentive spirometer use, and fall prevention.
• Maintaining a clean and organized patient bedside area to ensure a safe workspace.
• Intentionally rounding on each patient every hour.
• Mandatory Orientation Training completion required: one full week of Monday through Friday 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. prior to starting work on the unit.

Required Skills and Experience

• High school or equivalent experience.
• BLS – will be provided if needed.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• NYS Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA).
• Previous patient care experience.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent hand and finger use (e.g., to operate a computer keyboard).
• Lifting and carrying items up to 40 lbs. (e.g., boxes, equipment, IV solutions), with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to stoop, kneel, or crouch for tasks such as retrieving items from lower shelves or filing in low drawers.
• Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods, as the position may require.
• Capacity to operate job‑related equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Location and Shift Information

• Onsite: Schuyler Hospital – 220 Steuben Street, Montour Falls, NY 14865
• Shift: 2 Shifts per week (12 HR Shift)
  • Every other weekend, every other holiday

Pay Range Disclosure

• $19.47 to $25.75 per hour
