Job summary

Adventist Health Glendale is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide personal nursing care under the supervision of a licensed registered nurse (RN). You will assist with activities of daily living, monitor patients, and communicate with the RN about patient status.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED (preferred), CNA certification (preferred), and BLS certification (required). Additional credentials such as phlebotomy or CHDP training are a plus.

Qualifications

• HS/GED or equivalent preferred.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Phlebotomy and CHDP related trainings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal nursing care for patients under RN supervision.
• Takes vital signs and monitors patient status.
• Assists with activities of daily living (nutrition, hygiene, mobility).
• Reports patient status and concerns to the RN and care team.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Provides personal nursing care to the patient under the direction of a licensed registered nurse (RN). Performs tasks associated with activities of daily living including self-care needs. Performs routine assigned tasks and reports patients’ status and concerns to the RN.

Job Requirements

Education and Work Experience

• High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred

Licenses/Certifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification: Preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
• Phlebotomy Certification: Preferred
• Audiometry and vision training or have a certificate from CHDP: Preferred

Facility Specific License/Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required

Essential Functions

• Performs tasks associated with activities of daily living, including assisting with nutrition and hydration, elimination, personal care, positioning devices, restraints and restorative care.
• Takes vital signs including, pulse and blood pressure.
• Helps patients with their basic needs, i.e., bathing, dressing and feeding.
• Performs routine assigned tasks and reports patients’ status and concerns to the RN.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
