Job summary

Select Medical Rehabilitation Hospital at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, IN seeks a Nursing Assistant for full-time night shifts (6pm–6:30am). Compensation ranges from $18.00 to $21.94 per hour plus shift differentials.

Responsibilities include vital signs, daily care, meals, patient transport, and mobility assistance. The role supports inpatient rehabilitation for brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, and other conditions, with orientation, PTO, health benefits, and a 401(k) plan.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED (or 3+ years of relevant work experience).
  • BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
  • Hospital experience as nursing assistant preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain vital signs, height, weight and demographic data.
  • Assist patients with personal and daily care (bathing, oral hygiene, shaving, hair care).
  • Deliver meals and snacks and document oral intake for patients unable to feed themselves.
  • Turn and position immobile patients safely and assist in mobility programs.
  • Transport patients to designated areas and treatment centers as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)
  • BLS is required within 90 days of hire
Preferred Qualifications
  • Hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant, actively enrolled RN student)
  • Post offer employment testing (POETs) are completed as part of the onboarding process and are to be completed before an employee's first day of work.*
