Job summary

Sanford Health in Bemidji, Minnesota, is hiring a Nursing Assistant to provide compassionate, patient-centered care under the supervision of an RN or LPN. You will assist with daily living activities, monitor patients, and support basic health needs in a rural health system.

This role also involves recording vital signs, performing delegated tasks, and performing basic clerical duties related to scheduling and documenting patient care.

Qualifications

• Must acquire basic knowledge of patient care principles, medical terminology and equipment.
• Certification and registration with the Minnesota Board of Nursing Assistant Registry is preferred; certification is required if designated by law.

Shifts are as following:

• Three 12 hour shifts per week
• Every third weekend and holiday commitment
• Shift times are 7am - 730pm or 7pm - 730am

Summary

The Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as caregiver to the patient during the scheduled work period. The NA provides patient-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned patient under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

Job Description

• Provide assistance with basic health care needs including daily living activities; bathing, grooming, toileting, eating, meal preparation and dining needs, emotional and spiritual needs.
• Administer delegated tasks and treatments.
• Record vital statistics and other basic health information.
• Will collect non-invasive biological specimens from patients as needed.
• Perform clerical work related to scheduling and documenting patient healthcare.
• Prepare patient treatment areas for use; prepare and clean medical equipment; dispose of biomedical waste in accordance with standards and policy.
• Clean patient living areas or treatment rooms.

Qualifications

• Must be able to acquire a basic knowledge of patient care principles, medical terminology and equipment within the assigned service area.
• Certification and registration with the Minnesota Board of Nursing Assistant Registry is preferred. Certification is required if designated by law (i.e. Home Care).
