ECU Health Nursing Assistant position involves providing direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse in a 0.9 FTE, night-shift role. The NA participates in unit and hospital goals, supports safety and infection control, and ensures accurate documentation within medical records.
Observational duties may apply for patient monitoring per plan of care. The role requires NAI licensure in NC, a current HeartSaver (or higher) certification, and completion of de-escalation training
The Nursing Assistant performs specific responsibilities under the direction and supervision of a licensed nurse. Functions within the framework of the NAI listing granted by the NC Department of Health and Human Services. Practices within the philosophy and goals of patient care services. In addition, the Nursing Assistant may be utilized in the Observer Role responsible for monitoring one or more assigned patients on a designated unit for a specified time period.
