Job summary

Adventist Health Castle in Kailua, HI seeks a Nursing Assistant focused on patient care and daily living support within a 12-hour shift. You will work under an RN, performing routine tasks, monitoring status and ensuring comfort for patients in a busy acute setting.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED (preferred) and BLS certification; CNA is preferred. Advancement opportunities exist within a faith-based, nonprofit health system serving O‘ahu and surrounding communities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or related experience preferred.

• Phlebotomy certification preferred; audiometry/vision training preferred.

• Takes vital signs such as pulse and blood pressure.
• Assists patients with bathing, dressing and feeding.
• Performs routine tasks and reports patient status to the RN.

Job Summary

Provides personal nursing care to the patient under the direction of a licensed registered nurse (RN). Performs tasks associated with activities of daily living including self-care needs. Performs routine assigned tasks and reports patients’ status and concerns to the RN.

Job Requirements

Education and Work Experience:

• High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred

Licenses/Certifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification: Preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification (Required within two weeks of hire for employees in Acute Care Nurses Aide Program): Required in HI
• Phlebotomy Certification: Preferred
• Audiometry and vision training or have a certificate from CHDP: Preferred

Facility Specific License/Certifications

Essential Functions

• Performs tasks associated with activities of daily living, including assisting with nutrition and hydration, elimination, personal care, positioning devices, restraints and restorative care.
• Takes vital signs including, pulse and blood pressure.
• Helps patients with their basic needs, i.e., bathing, dressing and feeding.
• Performs routine assigned tasks and reports patients’ status and concerns to the RN.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
