Orlando Health St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, Florida seeks a part-time Nursing Assistant | EMT | CNA to assist with patient hygiene, mobility and daily care during the 7pm–7am night shift (two 12-hour shifts with rotating weekends).

This position is at the STC Multisystem / Surgical PCU unit, a 16-bed unit providing close monitoring for diverse surgical and medical patients. The role requires a high school diploma and completion of relevant trainings; Florida CNA certification or LPN, with

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Nursing Assistant or Patient Care Assistant program.
Florida CNA certification.
LPN license.
Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
Military medical licenses (EMS/Paramedic) or international licensure.

Responsibilities

Assist patients with hygiene, mobility, hydration, elimination and nutrition.
Provide routine treatments and maintain a safe, clean patient environment.
Maintain safety and security of patients, families, self, and team members.
Assure patient privacy, rights, and confidentiality.
Follow standard precautions, always wash hands between patients.
Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge of patients.
Take and record vital signs and intake/output as directed.
Document pertinent patient information per Orlando Health policies.
Communicate information and safety concerns to RN or team.
Participate in handoff reports and hourly rounds.
Provide exceptional service and care to patients, families, customers and team members.

About The Multisystem / Surgical Pcu

This is a 16-bed Multisystem/Surgical Progressive Care Unit (PCU) that provides care for a diverse population of patients with varying levels of acuity.
The unit manages patients requiring close monitoring and specialized nursing care, including those recovering from surgical procedures, patients with stroke, PCU-level medical and surgical conditions, and individuals requiring isolation precautions.
Nurses on this unit develop expertise in caring for complex patients, performing frequent assessments, coordinating multidisciplinary care, and managing a wide range of medical and surgical diagnoses

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

Assists patient with hygiene, mobility, hydration, elimination and nutritional needs.
Provides routine treatments and maintains a safe, clean, neat, and organized patient environment.
Maintains safety and security of patients, families, self, and other members of the healthcare team.
Assures patient privacy, rights, and confidentiality.
Follows standard precautions, always washes hands between patients.
Assists with admission, transfer, and discharge of patients.
Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rates, food and fluid intake and output as directed.
Obtains data and accurately documents pertinent patient information according to Orlando Health specific policies and guidelines.
Recognizes and communicates appropriate information and safety concerns regarding the patient’s condition to the RN and or other members of the healthcare team.
Participates in handoff report and purposeful hourly rounding of patients.
Provides exceptional service and or care to all patients, families, customers and team members.
