Job summary

Providence Little Company Of Mary Torrance Hospital is seeking a Nurse Assistant (NA) to provide delegated, non-licensed patient care under the supervision of an RN. Duties may include EKGs, vital signs, basic patient care and transportation, with attention to age-specific needs.

Qualifications

• Graduate of any accredited Certified Nursing Assistant program, or Nursing Assistant program or completion of 2nd semester of accredited Nursing Program, or
• Graduate of any accredited Nursing Assistant program, or equivalent educ/experience
• Demonstrated equivalency (such as experience as a corpsman, EMT, foreign-licensed RN or MD, Medical Assistant, Caregiver.

Responsibilities

• Provide delegated routine patient care tasks under RN supervision, including basic care and transportation.
• Respond to patient and family needs with age-appropriate care knowledge.
• Assist with EKGs and vital signs as delegated by supervising RN.

The Nurse Assistant (NA) role is a non-licensed health care employee who performs delegated routine and predictable patient care tasks/duties and works under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). These duties may include, but are not limited to EKGs, vital signs, basic patient care and transportation. Responds appropriately to patients and families with knowledge of age-specific needs based on scope of service of unit/department where assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Coursework/Training: Graduate of any accredited Certified Nursing Assistant program, or Nursing Assistant program or completion of 2nd semester of accredited Nursing Program, or
• Coursework/Training: Graduate of any accredited Nursing Assistant program, or equivalent educ/experience
• Demonstrated equivalency (such as experience as a corpsman, EMT, foreign-licensed RN or MD, Medical Assistant, Caregiver.
• Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year of Previous Nurse Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant experience in a hospital or post-acute environment.
