Job summary

Providence Little Company Of Mary Torrance Hospital is hiring a Nurse Assistant (NA) to perform delegated routine patient care tasks under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Responsibilities include EKGs, vital signs, basic patient care and transportation, with age-appropriate communication for patients and families.

Qualified candidates have completed an accredited CNA or Nursing Assistant program, or have demonstrated equivalency, plus BLS certification upon hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Certified Nursing Assistant or Nursing Assistant program, or completion of 2nd semester of accredited Nursing Program.
• Demonstrated equivalency (e.g., corpsman, EMT, foreign-licensed RN or MD, Medical Assistant, Caregiver).
• Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association

Responsibilities

• Performs delegated routine patient care tasks (EKG, vital signs, basic care, transportation) under RN supervision.
• Responds to patients and families with age-appropriate communication and care.
• Works in a hospital setting (Providence Little Company Of Mary Torrance Hospital) and follows unit/department scope of service.

Description

The Nurse Assistant (NA) role is a non-licensed health care employee who performs delegated routine and predictable patient care tasks/duties and works under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). These duties may include, but are not limited to EKGs, vital signs, basic patient care and transportation. Responds appropriately to patients and families with knowledge of age-specific needs based on scope of service of unit/department where assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Coursework/Training: Graduate of any accredited Certified Nursing Assistant program, or Nursing Assistant program or completion of 2nd semester of accredited Nursing Program., Or
