Job summary

Prisma Health LTACH - Baptist is seeking a Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Tech to support RNs in providing basic patient care and daily living activities. You will assist with monitoring patients, recording vital signs, and maintaining medical records under RN supervision.

This on-site role supports night shift operations in a hospital setting, contributing to patient comfort and safety while ensuring adherence to care plans and hospital procedures.

• Experience: No experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients with activities of daily living and basic patient care.
• Performs data collection including vital signs and basic specimen collection.
• Documents activities and patient status in medical records and informs RN of changes.
• Runs errands, answers calls and responds to call lights.
• Performs point-of-care testing as trained by RN.

Job Summary

Performs routine assistive tasks to assist the Registered Nurse to meet basic patient needs, unlicensed assistive personnel.

Essential Functions

• All team members are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Prisma Health's purpose: Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference.

• Assists patients with activities of daily living. Turns and repositions patients alone or with assistance. May transport patients and assist with walking. Assists with fall prevention interventions and patient restraints as delegated.

• Provides patient care as delegated by the RN including, but not limited to, non-sterile soaks, application of non-sterile simple dressings, perineal care.

• Performs data collection including vital signs, fluid intake and outtake and basic and sterile specimen collection. Properly documents and maintains data on medical record and informs RN of activities performed, observations of patients and changes in patient status.

• Runs errands, answers telephone, answers and responds to call lights.

• Performs point of care testing as trained and delegated by RN. Reports lab values to RN.

• Provides and documents comfort and non-pharmacological pain management measures.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

• This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.

• Education - Completion of a nursing assistant or patient care tech program.

• Experience - No experience required.

In Lieu Of

• In lieu of school verification of a nursing assistant training course, will accept current or former state CN A certification as proof of completed state required training at time of hire.
