Job summary

Sanford Health, the nation\'s largest rural health system, is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide patient-focused care under RN/LPN supervision. The role covers day shifts on the Resource Team, with a 36-hour weekly schedule and a rotating every-other-weekend/holiday roster.

The NA will assist with daily living activities, record vital signs, and help prepare treatment areas while maintaining compliance and patient comfort in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is preferred.
• If ND/MN, must be on NA Registry within four months from hire date.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance with basic health care needs including activities of daily living.
• Record vital statistics and other basic health information.
• Will collect non-invasive biological specimens as needed.
• Perform clerical work related to scheduling and documenting patient healthcare.
• Prepare treatment areas, clean equipment, and dispose of biomedical waste.
• Provide one on one care to patients when necessary.

The Resource Team is a FLOAT position that allows you to see and experience multiple units and hospitals!

Shifts: 7:00am-7:30pm. Every other weekend and every other holiday rotation.

Summary

The Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as caregiver to the patient during the scheduled work period. The NA provides patient-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned patient under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

Job Description

• Provide assistance with basic health care needs including daily living activities; bathing, grooming, toileting, eating, meal preparation and dining needs, emotional and spiritual needs.
• Administer delegated tasks and treatments.
• Record vital statistics and other basic health information.
• Will collect non-invasive biological specimens from patients as needed.
• Perform clerical work related to scheduling and documenting patient healthcare.
• Prepare patient treatment areas for use; prepare and clean medical equipment; dispose of biomedical waste in accordance with standards and policy.
• Clean patient living areas or treatment rooms.
• When necessary for safe provision of care, employee will provide one on one care to patients.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is preferred. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.
• If working in North Dakota (ND) or Minnesota (MN) and not a Certified Nursing Assistant, must be on the NA Registry as a Nursing Assistant through the North Dakota Dept. of Health or through the Minnesota Dept. of Health within four months from the date of hire.
• If working in Wisconsin, must be on the Wisconsin Nurse Aid Registry with current work eligibility.
