Job summary

Providence St. Joseph Hospital Eureka in Eureka, CA seeks a Nursing Assistant for the Float Pool. This full-time night shift (12-hour) role supports patient care under RN supervision, delivering compassionate, patient-focused service.

The successful candidate will perform bedside care, monitor vital signs, document accurately, and assist with activities of daily living while ensuring safety and quality care. BLS and NA certification are preferred, with acute care experience welcomed.

Qualifications

• Within 30 days of hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.
• Nursing Assistant certification preferred at hire.
• Acute care or specialty experience desired.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine bedside care, including personal hygiene and ADLs.
• Collect data, monitor vital signs, and document in the chart.
• Record input/output and use equipment safely.
• Respond to call lights and emergencies promptly.

Nursing Assistant - Float Pool at St Joseph Hospital Eureka in Eureka, CA. This position is Full Time and will work 12-hour, Night shifts.

The Nursing Assistant employs intellectual, interpersonal and technical skills to perform basic patient care. Under the supervision of the Assistant Nurse Manager, Charge Nurse or RN, the Nursing Assistant assists with routine, direct bedside care of patients of various ages as defined by the department scope of service. Such duties include, but are not limited to: personal hygiene, data collection and observation, vital signs, I&O, use of equipment, ADL's, documenting on the medical record, answering call lights, and recognizing and responding to emergency situations.

Required Qualifications:
