Job summary

UNC Health in Smithfield, NC is hiring part-time Nursing Assistant I to provide routine direct and indirect patient care under supervision. The position is onsite in the Nursing Flex Pool with night shifts and a 24-hourweek schedule.

Responsibilities include assisting physicians, monitoring patient conditions, and helping with admissions, discharge, and daily living activities, while ensuring safety and comfort for patients and families.

Qualifications

• Six months of nursing assistant experience preferred.
• Fluent in verbal and written English with basic computer skills.
• Ability to follow Plan of Care under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and other health care providers with routine examinations and procedures.
• Monitor and report changes in patient condition to a nurse or physician.
• Provide personal care including bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility assistance.
• Collect specimens, measure vital signs, and perform routine tasks per care plan.
• Assist with admission, orientation, and discharge processes.
• Support with environment maintenance and unit activities.
