Job summary

Avalon Care Center Yakima is hiring Nursing Assistants who have an active NAR, completed CNA courses and clinicals. You will work as a Nursing Assistant while you wait for your CNA license to become active, with a pay rate of $19.00 per hour.

Candidates must obtain CNA certification within 120 days of hire and maintain it thereafter. We offer a supportive team caring for residents with psychiatric and medical needs in a facility focused on dignity and recovery.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Active Nurse Assistant Registration (NAR) with CNA courses completed and clinicals.
• Must obtain CNA certification within 120 days of hire.
• Ability to read, write and follow directions.
• Ability to relate well to residents and work with the care team.
• Willing to assist others and maintain regular attendance.
• Recent clinical experience or education is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Take and record temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure.
• Ambulate residents.
• Apply proper lifting and transferring techniques.
• Provide proper positioning and use of postural supports.
• Maintain residents’ positioning as needed.
• Weigh residents on schedule and record weights accurately.
• Provide restorative and rehabilitative nursing.
• Respond to needs and concerns of residents and families.
• Collaborate with the caregiving team to resolve issues.
• Respond promptly to call lights and other resident needs.
• Treat residents with compassion and dignity.
• Communicate effectively with residents and families.
• Ensure correct diets and safe feeding techniques.
