Job summary

AdventHealth in Overland Park, Kansas is seeking a patient care technician to assist nursing staff by delivering patient care tasks, accurately taking vital signs, and documenting findings in the electronic medical record. You will follow department policies, operate within scope during emergencies, and participate in quality-improvement initiatives.

This part-time position requires a High School diploma, and BLS certification is required; CNA, CPCT/A, and EMT credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 1+ year PCT experience preferred.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in patient care under licensed nurse supervision.
• Accurately take vital signs and document in EMR.
• Follow department policies and safety procedures, including PPE and hand hygiene.

Job Description

Assists in the delivery of patient care by performing tasks under the direction of a licensed nurse. Accurately performs vital signs and documents in the electronic medical record. Documents and reports all procedures accurately and in accordance with department policy. Perform duties and patient care according to policy and procedure. Functions appropriately within scope in clinical emergencies. Participates in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and supports quality standards and initiatives. Follows CDC isolation guidelines, demonstrates appropriate use of PPE, performs hand hygiene according to policy, and enforces safety regulations.

Education & Experience

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
• Work Experience: 1+ applicable PCT experience [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]

• Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant (CPCT/A) [Preferred]

Pay Range

Pay Range: $16.42 - $26.28
