Job summary

Prisma Health's Laurens County Hospital seeks a Certified Nursing Assistant to support patient care on the Cardiac Telemetry unit. You will assist with activities of daily living, monitor patients, and document vital signs under the supervision of a registered nurse.

This role requires completion of a nursing assistant or patient care tech program, with no experience required. The position supports night shift operations at Laurens County Medical Campus.

Qualifications

• Completion of a nursing assistant or patient care tech program.
• No experience required.
• CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant or current/former CNA certification accepted as proof of training at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living and repositioning.
• Perform data collection: vital signs, intake/output; document changes in patient status.
• Provide non-sterile dressings, perineal care, and basic care as delegated by RN.
• Maintain neat, clean patient environment and report observations to RN.
• Run errands, answer calls, and respond to call lights.
• Perform point-of-care testing as trained and report lab values to RN.
• Provide comfort and non-pharmacological pain management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Assists in providing patient care based on the individualized plan of care for a patient. As delegated, performs basic nursing activities. Conducts data collection, monitors and documents patient status. Ensures confidentiality of all patient information. Utilizes safe patient handling at all times. Informs RN of activities performed observations of patients and changes in patient status. Provides a neat and clean patient environment.

Essential Functions

• Assists patients with activities of daily living. Turns and repositions patients alone or with assistance. May transport patients and assist with walking. Assists with fall prevention interventions and patient restraints as delegated.
• Provides patient care as delegated by the RN including, but not limited to, non-sterile soaks, application of non-sterile simple dressings, perineal care.
• Performs data collection including vital signs, fluid intake and outtake and basic and sterile specimen collection. Properly documents and maintains data on medical record and informs RN of activities performed, observations of patients and changes in patient status.
• Runs errands, answers telephone, answers and responds to call lights.
• Performs point of care testing as trained and delegated by RN. Reports lab values to RN.
• Provides and documents comfort and non-pharmacological pain management measures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.

• Education - Completion of a nursing assistant or patient care tech program.
• Experience - No experience required.

In Lieu Of

In lieu of school verification of a nursing assistant training course, will accept current or former state CN A certification as proof of completed state required training at time of hire.
