Job summary

Henry Ford Health's CHMC Rochester campus in northern Oakland County, Michigan, is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will assist with basic tasks, monitor vital signs, and support safety and infection control on the unit.

Required are a high school diploma or GED and current AHA BLS certification or ability to obtain within the first week of hire.

Role Overview: As a Nursing Assistant at CHMC, you play a vital role in providing direct and indirect nursing care to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). Your work ensures that patients receive compassionate and high-quality care, supporting the mission of CHMC to deliver exceptional healthcare services. What You Will Do

• Assist in providing basic patient care duties, including taking vital signs, hygiene activities, feeding, bathing, and post-mortem care.
• Administer basic treatments under RN direction, such as preparing procedure setups, measuring I & O, and applying cold/heat packs.
• Respond to call lights promptly, distribute water and linens, locate equipment, and stock supplies.
• Assist in transporting patients, specimens, and pharmacy orders as needed.
• Support unit operations by performing non-clinical duties assigned by the RN.
• Adhere to safety, infection control, and patient confidentiality protocols.

What You Will Need

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Current AHA BLS certification or obtain within the first week of hire through HEART CODE.
