Job summary

Aspirus St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth, MN is seeking a Nursing Assistant to join the 2W Oncology-Med team. Night shift, 8 hours, 0.60 FTE (48 hours biweekly) with a $1,500 sign-on bonus.

Minimum qualifications include the MN Nursing Assistant Registry or WI Nurse Aide Registry at hire (or current enrollment in a nursing program with one semester completed), plus 6 months of clinical experience and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Must have either MN Nursing Assistant Registry or WI Nurse Aide Registry at hire, or be enrolled in an accredited nursing program with one semester of clinical rotations.
• Minimum of 6 months of verifiable clinical experience.
• BLS Certification (Provider or Healthcare Provider) from AHA, ARC, or Military Training Network.

Salary Range: $18.00 - $26.12 Hourly Schedule/Hours: NIGHT ONLY, 8 hours Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend FTE: PART TIME, 0.60 FTE or 48 Hours Biweekly NOW OFFERING A $1,500 SIGN-ON BONUS!!!

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: For employees hired after 12/1/2017: Nursing Assistant on either the Minnesota Department of Health Nursing Assistant Registry or the Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry at the time of hire (need not be renewed), OR be currently enrolled in an accredited Nursing program and have completed one semester of clinical rotations, OR see experience.
• Experience: Six (6) months of verifiable clinical experience.
• Licensure/Certification/Registration: BLS Certification with a designation of either BLS Provider or Healthcare Provider from either the American Heart Association or American Red Cross or Military Training Network.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of basic mathematical computations; skill in taking temperatures, pulse, respirations, blood pressure and weight; legible printing and/or handwriting. Ability to comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions; to observe and report anything that varies from normal or expected; to communicate and work harmoniously with patients, families and health team members; to maintain confidentiality.

READING - Intermediate: Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

WRITING - Basic: Ability to write simple correspondence.

SPEAKING - Basic: Ability to speak simple sentences.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Basic Skills: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

REASONING ABILITY - Intermediate Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

AGE SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES - Skilled at assessment and knowledgeable of growth and development. Provides appropriate care respective to the ages of the patients served per clinical environment. Maintains competency with Age Specific independent study requirements, with a passing score annually.
