Job summary

Essentia Health Moose Lake Hospital is seeking a nursing assistant to provide direct patient care under supervision. You will assist with daily living activities, vital signs, and documentation, while maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for patients.

The role requires at least BLS certification or the ability to obtain it within 1 month, with multiple shift options including overnight rotations. There is a 0.6 FTE commitment and a union with Moose Lake UFCW Local 1189.

Qualifications

• BLS certified or ability to become certified within 1 month from hire date.
• Must meet ONE of the following requirements: 6 months of patient care experience; Completion of one semester of clinical rotations within an accredited nursing program; Verifiable completion of a recognized nurse aide training program; Current registration on applicable state nursing assistant registry.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under supervision to support safety and comfort.
• Assist with activities of daily living, nutrition, comfort, transfers, vital signs and documentation; promptly report changes to the RN.
• Perform clerical/reception duties, requisition supplies/equipment/services, and assist with scheduling.

Job Description:

Responsible for providing direct care to patients and serving the needs of patients in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort, under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, Nurse Manager, Assistant Head Nurse, and/or Department Director (possibly with guidance from an LPN) to contribute to meeting the mission and goals of Essentia Health. Duties will vary by patient care unit/department and include but are not limited to: Providing personal hygiene care, assisting with nutritional needs, providing comfort care and other assistance, appropriately and safely transferring patients, taking vital signs and completing recordkeeping, recognizing and promptly reporting changes in patient condition to the RN, and maintaining a safe, clean environment for patients to promote the healing process. Works within job scope to meet the requirements of the Joint Commission and other applicable federal, state and local regulatory and accrediting agencies.

Along with organizes, and implements the non-nursing functions of assigned unit(s) to facilitate workflow, enhance unit productivity, and provide excellent customer service to patients, families, visitors and staff. Position promotes efficient unit function and indirect resident care. Performs clerical and reception duties; requisition supplies, equipment, and services as directed; assist with scheduling.

Education Qualifications:

Licensure/Certification Qualifications:

This position will work the following:

• 48 hours per 2 week
• Every Other Weekend
• Rotating 8 Hour Shifts
• Day Shift: 7:00AM - 3:30PM
• Evening Shift: 3:00PM - 11:30PM
• Overnight Shift: 11:00pm - 7:30AM
• We are looking for someone to mostly want to work Overnight Shift

$1500 for eligible candidates with work Commitment
