Generation-Gaither is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support professional nursing staff in caring for residents at our Kentucky facility. You'll bathe, dress, and assist with daily living tasks, while following established policies and procedures to ensure safety and comfort.
Responsibilities include measuring vital signs, documenting intake and output, helping with meals, and participating in care plan development.

Education: High School Education. Must be able to read, write, and follow oral instructions. On-the-job training.
Experience: Prefer some previous experience in health-care facilities.
The person holding this position is delegated the responsibility for carrying out the assigned duties and responsibilities in accordance with current existing federal and state regulations, as well as established company policies and procedures.
Assists professional nursing staff by performing duties in caring for residents at facility; work under supervision of professional nurses; bathe, and dress residents; comb hair, clean teeth, and care for nails; make beds; execute residents assessment and care plans; provide for safety, comfort, and well-being of service recipient.
Knowledge of procedures and techniques involved in administering simple treatments and providing related bedside resident-care service. Understanding of standard techniques used in providing personal services for resident and in caring for equipment and supplies. Good understanding of basis of asepsis and sterile techniques to avoid infection of residents and self or contamination of equipment and supplies. Be aware of the assessment process, and the development and execution of care plans.
Perform duties in accordance with established methods and techniques and in conformance with recognized standards. Provide maximum resident-care services within limits defined by delegated tasks.
Other: Exhibit genuine interest in residents; Patience and tact in dealing with residents, families, and visitors; initiative and judgment in recognizing symptoms indicative of resident’s adverse reactions to treatments; willingness to perform a variety of simple repetitive tasks.
Literate; adult in good physical and mental health. Emotional maturity; integrity; poise; dignity. Constant standing and walking during work periods. Turning, stooping, bending, stretching, and lifting to assist residents, make beds, move equipment and performance other related tasks. Finger and had dexterity to handle delicate instruments and other equipment. Visual and hearing acuity to detect changes in resident’s condition.

The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. There is a low risk of exposure to communicable diseases due to the high-risk population being served. There is a low risk of exposure to disruptive and sometimes violent behaviors on the part of our residents.
Must have a genuine interest in working with mentally ill persons. Must possess a willingness to conform to unusual situations. Ability to meet and deal with a variety of employees, residents, and relatives. Sociability, courtesy and sympathy. Memory for details. Considerable initiative and judgment needed in promoting favorable public relations.
