Job summary

Partou Apples and Cherries Day Nursery is seeking a Nursery Chef to cover maternity leave from September 2026 for 10 months. The 16-hour-per-week role runs Monday to Friday, with a pay rate of £14.77 per hour.

You will prepare nutritious meals for children, accommodate dietary needs and allergies, and contribute to a safe, caring environment while building partnerships with nursery staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 2 food and hygiene qualification.
• Proven chef experience, ideally in childcare settings.
• Sound knowledge of child nutrition and allergy awareness.
• Ability to work independently and in teams, maintaining calm and professional approach.

About the Role

Partou Apples and Cherries Day Nursery & Pre-school is seeking an enthusiastic chef to take on the full-time Monday to Friday, 16 hours per week role of Nursery Chef. You'll have the rewarding role of preparing delicious, nutritionally balanced meals for our children, never forgetting to cater to any specific dietary needs or allergies. You will provide exceptional care and compassion towards the children, maintain asafe and inclusive environment, and build strong partnerships with childcare colleagues.
