Job summary

The Indian Health Service, Northern Cheyenne Service Unit, seeks a Registered Nurse to deliver comprehensive, high-acuity care across the life span, using expert clinical judgement in rapidly changing situations. The nurse reports to the Supervisory Nurse and will participate in emergency care, triage, medication administration, and coordination with the care team, with a focus on patient education and quality improvement.

A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, per 6 C.F.R.

This position is located within the Northern Cheyenne Service Unit. The incumbent provides comprehensive, high-acuity nursing care to patients across the life span, exercising expert clinical judgement in rapidly changing and complex situations. The position reports to the Supervisory Nurse. A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021).

Evaluates clinical data, patient condition and determines appropriate care. Administers medication and other treatment plans based on patient assessment.

Performs emergency and resuscitative procedures. Participates in quality assurance and performance improvement activities. Provides patient and family education. Coordinates emergency patient care with providers and team members for continuity of care. Document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and care coordination in appropriate records.
