Job summary

Intermountain Health LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City is seeking a Nurse Manager in a leadership role to assist the nurse manager with daily nursing activities, staffing, budgeting, and staff development. You will help create a productive unit structure and ensure safe, high-quality patient care while aligning with organizational goals.

The role emphasizes mentorship, performance evaluations, staff training, and collaboration with physicians to reach clinical and service goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited institution (degree will be verified).
• Current Nursing License to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice.
• Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of the start of employment.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.
• Leadership/supervisory experience.
• Must complete Intermountain's leadership training and development courses within one year of accepting this leadership position.
• 2 years clinical experience.
• Experience in the area of oversight.
• Specialty Certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist and support the nurse manager in creating or maintaining an environment where clinical nursing is practiced.
• Delegate through the nurse manager to strategic planning, daily operations, and standards of care.
• Advocate for and allocate resources to promote safe and compassionate care.
• Coordinate with nurse manager to ensure sufficient, competent staff and handle hiring, orientation, retention, and staff satisfaction.
• Oversee staff performance reviews and compliance with safety initiatives and regulatory bodies.
• Participate in budgeting for unit including capital/operating and personnel (FTE).
• Mentor staff and provide ongoing professional educational opportunities.
