Job summary

Mercy Hospital seeks a nurse tech to support patient care under RN or LPN supervision. You will join a collaborative team, perform clinical and nonclinical tasks, and help patients reach their wellness goals.

Requirements include enrollment in an accredited nursing program, school transcripts, and BLS within one month of hire. Part-time schedule is 12 hours per week, with varied shifts.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an approved nursing program and have completed Fundamentals of Nursing.
• Good standing with school of nursing while in role.
• BLS certification within one month of hire.

Schedule: Part-Time | 12 hours a week | Shift-Time will vary

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

• High school diploma, G.E.D. and enrolled in an approved or accredited nursing program.
• Prior to employment, the nurse tech shall provide student transcripts indicating they have completed Fundamentals of Nursing from an accredited school of nursing and provide competency skills list from their learning institution.
• The nurse tech must remain in good standing with their school of nursing while in this role. This program is for nursing students only, if a student leaves a program for any reason, they can no longer be a nurse tech.

Certification(s):

• BLS Required within one month of hire.

Physical Requirements:

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience:

• EMT, Paramedic or Previous Patient Care Experience

Certification(s):

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
• Certified Patient Care Tech (CPCT)
• Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
• Advanced Unlicensed Assistant (AUA) in the state of practice.
