Job summary

FMOL Health is seeking a Nurse Tech (student LPN or student RN) to support the nursing staff under direct RN supervision in a hospital setting. You will perform non-invasive patient care, collect and report patient data, and assist with daily living activities with compassion and adherence to guidelines.

Under supervision, you will assist physicians with examinations and procedures, participate in admissions/discharges, and transport specimens as needed.

Qualifications

• Student RN/LPN in last year of accredited program.
• BLS certification required.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff with patient care under RN supervision.
• Record patient data (weight, vitals) and report changes to RN.
• Assist with activities of daily living with compassion and professionalism.
• Greet patients and families, orient them to their environment, and complete necessary paperwork as needed.

• Assistance is provided in patient admission, discharge, and transfer. Measures, collects, and records patient data (e.g., weight, vital signs) and reports symptoms, reactions, and changes in patients' condition to the Registered Nurse.
• Patients are assisted with daily living activities (e.g., bed bath, oral hygiene, shaving, dressing, back rubs, linen freshening), and provides general care (e.g., positioning patients, pre- and post-operative care, assisting with bed pan use) in a manner that demonstrates compassion and understanding for all patients as evidenced by lack of complaints.
• Active participation in patient admission, transfer, and discharge by greeting patient and their families, orienting patients to their environment, taking patient vital signs, and completing necessary paperwork, is provided as needed, in a timely and efficient manner as evidenced by lack of complaints.

• Assistance is provided to physicians with examination, treatments, and special tests and procedures as directed by a Registered Nurse. Collects patient specimens in a caring manner and expediently transports specimens to the lab when necessary.
