Job summary

INTEGRIS Health Baptist Medical Center in OKC is seeking a Part-Time Nurse Tech for day shifts. You will perform basic patient care, assist with activities of daily living, monitor vitals, and report to the assigned Clinical leader. This role emphasizes patient safety and collaboration with the care team.

Qualifications

• Must have completed one semester of nursing school with clinical experience.
• Current BLS certification or completion within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs personal patient care tasks, such as mouth care, making beds, giving baths.
• Assists with patient safety issues and reporting incidents.
• Performs treatments and assists with ambulation and basic procedures.
• Conducts basic diagnostic testing including vital signs and glucose monitoring.
• Performs select sterile procedures under supervision, including wound care and catheter care.
• May retrieve and transport medications; reports to Clinical leader.

Education

One semester of nursing schooling with clinical experience

Responsibilities

• Performs personal patient care tasks, such as mouth care, making beds, giving baths, perineal care, hair care, shaving patients, giving backrubs, and emptying bedpans or urinals
• Assist with patient safety issues such as the presence of an identification arm band, adherence to patient fall protocol and use of restraints, positioning of patient, promotion of an environment for rest and sleep, reporting of incidents/injury occurrences
• Performs treatments, which may include urinary catheter care, enema administration, preparation of sitz baths, applying compresses, and assisting with patient ambulation
• Conducts and documents basic diagnostic testing, which includes but is not limited to obtaining vital signs, blood glucose monitoring, 12-Lead EKG, telemetry monitor and pulse oximetry and Doppler
• Performs select sterile procedures that include specimen collection, wound care, tracheostomy care and suction, urinary catheterization, and tube feedings
• Note: Nurse Techs may not administer medications, nor may they independently assess patients. Please refer to the Oklahoma Board of Nursing statements on Guidelines for Individuals Enrolled in or Graduates of Nursing Education Programs, and OBN Policy on Delegation of Nursing Functions to Unlicensed Persons.
• May retrieve and transport medications
• The Nurse Tech reports to the assigned Clinical leader.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

• Must have completed one semester of nursing school with clinical experience, attending at an eligible state-accredited Nursing program
