Job summary

The Nurse Specialist- Wound/Ostomy at NYU Langone Health supports nursing quality and safety programs, facilitates quality improvement initiatives, and assists in regulatory compliance and patient care strategies.

In this full-time day position, you will apply evidence-based practice to quality and performance program development, collaborate across disciplines, participate in RCAs and FMEAs, and educate nursing staff on performance improvement methodologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required.
• Minimum of 5 years of recent acute care nursing experience.
• Current NY RN license.
• BLS certification required.
• Wound Ostomy Nurse Certification preferred.
• Master's Degree in Nursing or related field preferred or in progress.

Responsibilities

• Support the organization's Quality Safety and Performance Improvement Plan.
• Utilize evidence-based practice in quality and performance program development.
• Articulate understanding of nursing process and interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Demonstrate understanding of nurse-sensitive quality and clinical indicators.
• Assist with review and development of interdisciplinary standards.
• Participate in RCAs, FMEAs, and assist in corrective action plans.
• Support unit-based leadership in developing performance improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate activities to promote compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Provide education to nursing staff on performance improvement methodologies.
• Stay informed about current clinical practice and participate in leadership development programs.

• Basic Life Support Certification required.
• Wound Ostomy Nurse Certification preferred.
