Job summary

The Nurse Scientist at Moffitt Cancer Center leads nursing research efforts across the Center, partnering with the Director of Nursing Research to foster an environment that supports topic development, funding pursuit, and dissemination of results.

You will collaborate on internal and external studies, mentor staff nurses in research methods, and contribute to ethical considerations across all phases of the research process, including proposal critique and publication activities.

Qualifications

• PhD in Nursing or related field; RN licensure required.
• Principal investigator on 3+ research projects preferred; peer‑reviewed publications encouraged.
• Experience mentoring staff nurses on research in oncology nursing desirable.
• Extensive knowledge of ethical issues in research; ability to critique proposals for feasibility and merit.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight in nursing research across the Center.
• Collaborate with the Director of Nursing Research and governance councils to foster an organizational culture that supports research development and dissemination.
• Identify and pursue funding opportunities; disseminate findings through peer‑reviewed publications and presentations.

The Nurse Scientist collaborates with the Director of Nursing Research and shared governance councils to ensure an organizational culture that encourages and supports the development of research topics, the pursuit of funding as appropriate, the conduct of the research project, and the dissemination of findings.
